Terms of Service

Plain-language terms.
Written to be read.

These are the rules of the road for working with Praetoria Roofing & Exterior in Regina and across Saskatchewan. No surprises, no buried clauses.

Effective: May 10, 2026Last updated: May 10, 2026

1. The Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply when you request, accept, or pay for services from Praetoria Roofing & Exterior, a division of the Praetoria Group, operating in Regina and across southern Saskatchewan ("we", "us", "our"). The signed quote, work order, or written contract for your project ("Work Order") is the controlling document; these Terms fill in anything the Work Order does not address.

A binding agreement forms when you sign a Work Order, pay a deposit, or instruct us in writing to proceed. Verbal approvals will be confirmed by email before mobilization.

2. Scope of Work

Our scope is exactly what the Work Order describes — typically roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, eavestrough, flashing, ventilation, and related exterior services. Anything not listed (interior repairs, structural rebuilds, asbestos abatement, electrical, etc.) is not included unless we add it in writing as a Change Order.

Hidden conditions discovered during work — rotted decking, pest damage, prior improper installs, or code deficiencies — will be reported with photos and priced as a Change Order before we proceed.

3. Estimates & Pricing

Written estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Material pricing in Saskatchewan can move quickly; after 30 days we may need to re-confirm numbers. Verbal estimates are non-binding.

All prices are in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable GST and PST unless the Work Order states otherwise.

4. Scheduling & Weather

Roofing and exterior work in Saskatchewan is weather-dependent. We may reschedule for rain, hail, lightning, sustained winds above 40 km/h, or temperatures outside manufacturer-approved ranges for the materials in use. Rescheduling for weather is not a cancellation and does not trigger fees.

You may reschedule a confirmed start date with at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. Inside 48 hours, a re-mobilization fee may apply to cover crew time and material restocking.

5. Deposits & Payment

Standard residential payment terms are: a deposit at signing (typically 25–35% depending on material lead times), a progress payment when materials are delivered to site, and the balance on completion. Commercial accounts may be invoiced Net-15 or Net-30 with prior written approval.

Accepted methods: e-transfer, cheque, major credit cards, and ACH for commercial clients. Past-due balances accrue interest at 1.5% per month (19.56% per annum) starting 15 days after the invoice date.

Insurance-claim work may be invoiced directly to the insurer where permitted; the property owner remains responsible for any deductible and any uninsured upgrades.

6. Property Access & Site Conditions

You agree to provide safe, lawful access to the work area, including driveway access for dump trailers and material lifts. Please move vehicles, BBQs, patio furniture, satellite dishes, fragile décor, and anything stored in attics directly under work areas before crew arrival.

We are not responsible for damage to undisclosed underground utilities, irrigation lines, buried pet fencing, or items not flagged before mobilization. We mark, photograph, and report any pre-existing damage observed at the start of the project.

7. Permits, Code & Inspections

We pull City of Regina (or applicable municipal) permits when the scope requires them and coordinate any required inspections. Permit fees are billed at cost unless included in the Work Order.

All work is performed to meet or exceed the National Building Code as adopted in Saskatchewan and the manufacturer installation requirements that protect your warranty.

8. Change Orders

Any modification to scope, materials, colour, or schedule after signing is documented in a written Change Order and signed (electronically is fine) before the change is performed. We will not perform unapproved extras and then bill you for them.

9. Workmanship Warranty

We provide a 10-year workmanship warranty on residential roofing and exterior installations performed by our crews, beginning on the project completion date. Manufacturer warranties on materials are separate and pass through to you per the manufacturer's terms.

The workmanship warranty covers defects in installation. It does not cover damage caused by acts of God (hail, tornado, wildfire), structural settlement, third-party work performed after us, foot traffic by others, ice damming caused by inadequate insulation we did not install, or normal weathering.

To make a warranty claim, email roofingandexterior@praetoriagroup.ca with photos and the project address. We respond within 2 business days and inspect within 10 business days, weather permitting.

10. Force Majeure

Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, hail events, supply-chain disruptions, labour disputes, government orders, fire, or pandemic-related restrictions. Performance dates extend by the duration of the event.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Saskatchewan law, our total liability arising from a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages (lost income, lost rental, etc.).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Cancellation by You

You may cancel a signed Work Order in writing within 10 calendar days for a full refund of any deposit, less the cost of custom-ordered materials already in production and any engineering or permit work already completed on your behalf.

After 10 days, deposits become non-refundable to the extent we have committed materials, permit fees, or scheduled crew time.

13. Disputes & Governing Law

We will try to resolve any concern by direct conversation first — the office line and the owner are both reachable. If that does not resolve it, the parties agree to attempt mediation in Regina, Saskatchewan before commencing litigation.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. The courts of Saskatchewan have exclusive jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms over time. The version in effect on the date you sign your Work Order is the version that applies to your project. Updates are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.

15. Contact

Questions, warranty claims, or anything in between:

Need clarity?

Ask before you sign — we'd rather explain than dispute.

Every clause above exists for a reason. If something is unclear, call us and a human will walk you through it.
